The board of the Living at Home Network announced that Kristin Rigg will serve as the new executive director. Rigg began July 10 and is responsible for leading the Network’s work supporting older adults across the state of Minnesota. The 32 member organizations serve diverse communities with a variety of programs and services that enable older adults to live well in their homes. Older adults are important contributors to our community and Rigg will advocate at the local and state level – to garner resources for its members and to build strong relationships with public/private groups serving older adults.
“I am excited to be part of the important work bringing focus to the needs of older adults in Minnesota,” Rigg said. “I have been and am a caregiver, and those who supported me and my loved ones along the journey I consider to be angels. I am committed to making it easier for older adults and their caregivers to access services in their community.”
Rigg has more than 20 years of nonprofit experience, serving organizations both small and large as consultant, board member, volunteer and fundraising. She has a master’s degree in nonprofit management from Hamline University’s School of Business. The Living at Home Network was established in 1987 to affect societal change that encourages and supports ongoing neighborhood-based health and long-term support for older adults. Each
program adheres to nine guiding principles and together serve nearly 10,000 older Minnesotans every year.
“We are excited to welcome Rigg to the Network,” said Living at Home Network Board Chair Michael Schendel. “She brings passion and enthusiasm and her experience will benefit our members, partner organizations and older adults.”
